This meeting will be special for a couple of reasons:
• It is the first-ever summer meeting for the club, and
• it will be our first meeting in our new home at the Alton Mill!

• If you don't already know where the Alton Mill is, check the map.
• Doors will open at 7pm and the meeting will begin in the Millrace Room (downstairs) at 7:30pm.
• Be sure to bring your camera and tripod - Steve has planned a photo scavenger hunt activity for this meeting that will have us trying to find and photograph specific items in and around the mill.

This meeting we will see slideshows of photos taken at:
• St Marie among the Huron
• Fergus photo walk
• Kelby photo walk
• scavenger hunt at the last meeting

• Don't forget to bring your camera and tripod, we will have mini-workshops on close-up photography and low-light photography.
• There will also be a slideshow of inspirational landscape photographs to get you in the mood for some fall shooting.
• The first in our new series of "Before & After" where a member walks us through what they did to take their photo from raw image to finished photo.
• Judging of the photo assignment entries, this month the assignment is "Wet".

This month:

• we will have a before-and-after demonstration from Mandi Miles
• a talk from Jan about new technology coming out of Nikon
• slideshows of member photos
  • from a damp but colourful Algonquin trip
  • a warm and wet Scott's Falls trip
  • and from this month's assignment (S-curves)
• Something new we will be trying this month is a photo critique challenge... we will critique a photo as a group, then hear a professional critique of the same photo.
• As always, feel free to bring in any prints and projects you have been working on to show us what you are doing.

The OCC Christmas Party is this Thursday (Dec 10), 7:30 in our usual meeting place at the Alton Mill.

Gifts? Instead of gifts, please bring a non-perishable food item to donate. There is a large bin just inside the front door of the mill... just drop off your donation on your way in.

Food? Nibblies, coffee, water and soft drinks will be provided. You do not need to bring anything, but if you want to anyway... then sweets would be appreciated.

Dress code? In a straw poll of the executive last week, some will be dressing up a lot, some a little, and some not at all... so you can pretty much dress as you wish.

• Martin will be giving us a talk about Focal Length to help us understand which lens to use and what effect that choice will have on our photo.
• We will have another "Before & After" feature.
• Mike will show us some of the secrets of the on-line forum.
• Wwe will be answering your questions about the GTCCC contest that is coming up in January.
• Butterfly slideshow - get your photos from the trip to the Butterfly Conservatory trip to Martin L. by next Saturday so he can create the slideshow.
• Assignment photo for "Together" - If you haven't taken it yet... get your thinking caps on and get a shot in! Submit your entry to Martin by next Saturday.
• "What we did last month" slideshow - Did you get out somewhere interesting (alone or with other members) recently? Submit your favourite shots to me (Craig B.) and I will put them into a slideshow for the club meeting.

• We are featuring a presentation by Photo Book Canada.
• There will be a Before & After presentation by Steve Noseworthy
• Round 2 of the Critique Game (where we critique a photo then hear what the pro says).
• There will be a slideshow from our trip to Kensington for the Festival of Lights
• A slideshow of your "Little Treasures" assignment entries
• A slideshow of "What We Did Last Month" photos submitted by members.
• Finally, we will be collecting everyone's entries for the GTCCC contest. Please use the form enclosed with this email to give Jan the information about your submitted photos.
